Bio :Apolak is leading the Amazon EC2 office in Palo Alto. Apolak has over 20 years of experience in software development and management. Prior to joining Amazon, Apolak worked for BMC Software, an enterprise management software vendor, for 12 years. He held a variety of progressively senior roles at BMC, including managing teams of 300+ spanning development, architecture, QA and program management. In his most recent role he headed up the engineering team that developed BMC’s core cloud management productline, CLM. CLM grew from scratch to over $100M within two years, and consistently scored very high customer satisfaction ratings. Earlier roles included managing the engineering team for Bladelogic, which was an $800M+ acquisition. Apolak’s team helped drive a dramatic turnaround in Bladelogic revenue and product quality. While at BMC, he also worked on M&A and strategy. His experience prior to BMC includes a startup and Enron.
