Workshop: Unlocking the leader / communicator within: Introduction to Toastmasters

Abstract: "Communication skills and other soft skills are important. They can make or break a career." We all have heard this enough times that we are tired of the phrase. This is not news. As we work extremely hard building our careers, are we doing anything to develop and improve our soft skills? When the time comes for us to address a big crowd, are we up to the challenge? What does it take to lead a group of people and execute a task on time and with precision? Is there a way to learn all these skills in a fun way?

Yes, there is a way. Toastmasters International is a nonprofit educational organization with the goal of helping it's members improve their communication, public speaking and leadership skills. There are about 13000 clubs worldwide with more than 270000 members.

During our upcoming NIT meet this Sunday, Pradeep Chalicheemala along with experienced NIT Toastmasters will be conducting a mock toastmasters meeting / workshop. This is a great opportunity for you to participate and know first hand on what happens at a typical toastmasters club. Come and experience the fun way to develop our public speaking and leadership skills. In this workshop, Pradeep will be working with Pal Luthra, Ramesh Dewangan and Anand Desai who also are experienced toastmasters and NIT Alumni. They will share their toastmasters experiences and answer all the questions you may have regarding the benefits of joining a toastmasters club.
